“Lost in the Stars”
- Wy’east Mt Hood and Milky Way Galaxy from Lost Lake, Hood River Oregon -

Wy’east Mt Hood photographed in the fog on an early May Spring night at 3AM. Dead calm air for a perfectly still reflection, a new moon so the stars and Milky Way Galaxy were out in full force, and even some late Spring fresh snow on Mt Hood to make it pop out in the darkness. These sleepless nights are always difficult to get motivated and head out into the cold dark at midnight and return home at sunrise, but the potential of a special image like this keeps the passion flowing which cannot be simply set aside. Upon arriving at 1AM, I almost turned around and went home after seeing there was thick fog settled into the entire lake which concealed the views. Thankfully I persisted and the fog receded for short periods, revealing the grandeur and adding a mysterious feeling to the images.
“Lost in the Stars” is a multiple image panorama which will look fantastic at large sizes, in both standard and panoramic formats.
