"Super Flower Blood Moon" Total Lunar Eclipse

from $450.00

“Super Flower Blood Moon” Total Lunar Eclipse of May 15, 2022 photographed over the Columbia River Gorge Oregon & Washington. The longest total lunar eclipse in 33 years since 1989, cool! So thankful the skies were clear enough to witness & photograph this spectacular event because it’s been raining a lot lately. In typical form I rushed out last minute and didn’t have much of a plan to pull off capturing this event but happy it worked out!

This is a multiple image panorama & composite consisting of 4 images to capture the scene how I saw and envisioned the final image. Three images from left to right, each image is 8 second exposure since the light was dim and I wanted to smooth out the water & clouds. Immediately following those frames, I used a longer telephoto lens with a faster shutter speed to capture the eclipsed moon which is then composited into the panorama to overcome the technical limitations of cameras/lenses.

Image is a stitched panorama comprised of several frames, which means it prints at large sizes in stunning detail!
